AMWT Provides Food Relief in Gaza After Ceasefire

Al Mustafa Welfare Trust has successfully completed its third-quarter Emergency Food Assistance Program, where it has provided life-saving relief to families facing food insecurity due to constant conflict and economic instability in Gaza, Palestine. This initiative was focused on ensuring that the most vulnerable households had access to nutritious food, providing immediate relief to families facing daily challenges in meeting basic needs. During this quarter, Al Mustafa Welfare Trust distributed 200 family food packs and 800 double hot meals, reaching approximately 1,200 individuals. We have prioritized households with children, elderly members, and persons with disabilities, ensuring aid went to those who needed it most. The families we assisted included 65% households with children, 20% with elderly members, and 10% with people with disabilities, reflecting a carefully targeted approach to support those at greatest risk.

The program was implemented throughout Gaza City by working with local community committees. To maintain transparency, fairness, and community trust in the process, two special feedback sessions were created to enable the families to express their concerns and suggestions.

The effectiveness of the program is illustrated by a breakdown of beneficiaries who received direct food aid: 540 children, 360 women, 180 men, and 120 older people were given food aid directly. Moreover, an approximate number of 300 indirect beneficiaries such as children, men and women benefited by having better food security at the household level.

The underprivileged members of the society like the physically disabled, old and individuals who are in dire economic conditions were proactively targeted to make sure they get the help when in great demand. Food packs and ready-to-eat hot meals enabled the family to obtain adequate food at the moment of need, which minimized hunger and eased tension and anxiety. This was also done in such a way that the daily activities of the households and the community members were not interrupted.

AMWT has always stood beside the people of Gaza and Palestine and supported over 250,000 individuals through vital aid, including 27,000 food packs, 43,000 medical supplies, and safe drinking water for 20,000 people daily, reflecting its unwavering commitment to hope and dignity. The success of this quarter is the reflection of the efforts of the Al Mustafa Welfare Trust as all planned food packs and hot meals were delivered successfully, all the targeted households were reached, and community feedback sessions were done on schedule. Through the timely assistance and community involvement, Al Mustafa Welfare Trust is supporting families to overcome the crisis without degrading them, as well as ensuring their safety and hope of a better future.
