International Human Solidarity Day, observed annually on 20 December, reminds people to raise public awareness and promote solidarity in a world divided by borders, beliefs, and backgrounds. This day emphasizes achieving international commitments and calls for people to unite in diversity and engage in collective actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

As we think about how important it is to stand together on International Human Solidarity Day, the tragic humanitarian crisis in Palestine needs our attention. Palestinian people are calling on the world for urgent help because the ongoing war has had catastrophic results. More than 44,786 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the war started. And tragically, up to 50% of these identified fatalities are women and children. Along with that, at least 106,188 Palestinians have been injured, and the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse in Gaza.
On this International Human Solidarity Day 2024, we urge you to join the Palestine & Gaza Emergency Appeal to show what unity or solidarity means.
