Giving Zakat, which is one of the five pillars of Islam, is a basic act of generosity that purifies wealth and helps those in need. It is not just about giving money; it is also about the moral and social duty to care for vulnerable members of society, especially children. In Islam, supporting children, especially through Zakat, is seen as a noble and necessary act. Children are the future, and their future is uncertain when they don't have access to basic needs like education, shelter, and healthcare. Through Zakat, we can offer them hope, sustenance, and a path to success.Â
The dire Needs of School ChildrenÂ
According to Worldmetrics.org, it is estimated that 140 million children worldwide are living on the streets, with many of them being orphaned. Â
These children are going through a lot of hardships because they lack access to food, clean water, education, and shelter. Many children in school must work or beg because their families are poor, and this makes it harder for them to learn, which keeps their families poor.Â
How Zakat Donations Can Help ChildrenÂ
Al Mustafa Welfare Trust helps children in need by providing them with school education, uniforms, and healthcare with the support of Zakat donations. This helps nourish their physical needs and promotes emotional well-being, offering them the stability they need to thrive. Children who receive regular supplies are healthier, more focused, and better equipped to stay in school. These basics not only help to reduce immediate suffering but also invest in the future of these children, giving them a chance to escape from the cycle of poverty.Â
Islamic Perspective on seeking KnowledgeÂ
Islam places a high value on seeking knowledge and helping those in need. Â
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)Â said,Â
"Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."[Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2646]Â
This hadith highlights the importance of education in Islam.Helping children, especially those from low-income families, with their education and health is a charitable act and a means to make a lasting difference. Through Zakat, we help children grow, learn, and become valuable members of society. This aligns with the broader Islamic principle that encourages acts of kindness and mercy towards the less fortunate. Â
The Impact of Zakat Donation Â
With the support of generous Zakat donation, Al Mustafa Welfare Trust is making tangible differences in areas where children are most vulnerable. In regions facing high levels of poverty and instability, your 100% Zakat is used to provide children’s school supplies like uniforms and travel expenses and spend on their education, who would otherwise go without. These efforts empower children by giving them access to education and emotional support.Â
Moreover, if a child is an orphan, they will be registered in our Orphan Sponsorship Program, which takes care of their food, shelter, education, healthcare, and emotional well-being.Â
Initiated Muzaffargarh School ProjectÂ
Here at Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, we initiated the Muzaffargarh School project that provides education to more than 1000 underprivileged children in the region. Bilal, who completed his higher education in Lahore, returned to his hometown with a mission to educate children. For that, he built a school where he teaches children. And we aim to support the children by offering free education, books and uniforms, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed. This school will have modern classrooms, sports fields, laboratories, and libraries within a green campus. It will also be equipped with solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system that will be eco-friendly and sustainable for the future.Â
Your Zakat donations can make this vision a reality and have a lasting impact on children's lives. You can learn more about the project here:Muzaffargarh School.Â
