Winter Appeal

This winter our commitment is simple: fight the cold outside and the cold inside.

Too many are waiting for warmth in homes that never heat up, in lives that never catch a break. Vulnerable communities are facing harsh weather and real danger, and we refuse to let them wait alone. For those of us in warm homes, winter is a season. For the vulnerable communities we serve, winter is a harsh, indefinite pause in life. It is a period of desperate waiting, suffering through physical and emotional colds while hoping for a lifeline.

But cold does not wait for conflict to resolve, and hunger does not wait for the snow to melt. Palestine cannot wait. The war has already stripped them of safety; the winter threatens to strip them of life as they face critical shortages of shelter and medicine.

Lebanon and Yemen cannot wait. Displaced families who have fled violence and lost homes to disasters are currently exposed to the elements, waiting for the warmth they deserve.

Pakistan and Kashmir cannot wait. In the freezing mountains, the drop in temperature is a life-threatening emergency for families who have no defense against the chill.

At Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, we believe that no one should be left abandoned in the cold. Your support is the only thing that bridges the gap between freezing misery and life-saving warmth. Don't make them wait another hour.

Our Winter Projects

Who is waiting for warmth tonight, and how long have they already waited?

How many children, families, and neighbours are bracing themselves for another cold they cannot control? What happens to a person when winter becomes something to fear rather than a season to endure?

We believe warmth should never come after a long wait. Our work is simple: reach people before the cold does. Food, clothing, hygiene kits, safe contact, human presence. Small interventions that interrupt a dangerous pattern.

Warmth without waiting, stop the cold, save a life.

Only after asking these questions do the numbers speak with their full force. In the UK, 30 percent of all children live in poverty. Between 1.97 and 3 million people may be undernourished. Almost 275,000 people are homeless, living on the streets, in temporary shelters, or in places never meant for human life.

They are waiting for warmth.

We are here so they do not have to wait alone..

Zahra's Success Story

10-year old Zahra’s story: A childhood in a refugee camp

Ten-year-old Zahra is a Syrian refugee living in a make-shift home in a refugee camp. As well as fleeing her home amid violence and suffering, Zahra has suffered incredible, deep loss. Last year, her precious mother passed away, leaving a huge gaping hole in Zahra’s life.

While she longs for her mother’s touch and words of comfort, Zahra must be strong for her siblings and father. Their home fails to protect them. In the winter, it is terribly cold and throughout the year it becomes muddy and flooded due to rains. Zahra and her siblings often shiver through the nights worrying about getting unwell when the nearest hospital is still just way too far.

Like any child, Zahra dreams of safety, toys and joy. Instead, she worries about surviving. Will you help vulnerable families like Zahra’s?

You can provide families like Zahra’s with food, relief aid & medical aid so that they can stay healthy and safe.
